Dear Parent or Guardian,
Bremen District 228 offers its incoming students an opportunity to take proficiency tests in the areas of math and world language. Your child can sign up to test in one or more areas provided that he/she meets the pre-qualifications list below:
Honors Math 1 Test (60-minute test) (8:00 am – 9:00 am)
∙ Middle School teacher recommendation
∙ Earn a fall, MAP math RIT score of 216-229 (if applicable)
Honors Math 2 Test (80-minute test) (8:00 am – 9:20 am)
● Middle School teacher recommendation
● Earn a fall, MAP math RIT score of 230 or above (if applicable)
World Language: (1-hour test) (9:30 - 11:00 am)
● Be enrolled in a Spanish course in 8th grade and have teacher recommendation; or ● Speak Spanish at home (to possibly enroll in Heritage Spanish)
Placement testing will occur on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at Bremen High School. You must register your child using the Google Form posted on district website (Placement Testing Registration Form or www.bhsd228.com). Additional information about each test can be found within the registration form. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with your child’s testing schedule. Registration will close on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
Make-up tests will be offered on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Bremen High School.
